Sacred Heart Consecration

Consecrating ourselves to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a promise to receive His love and share it with others. It represents a total, intentional surrender of one's life to Christ, fostering a deeper relationship of love and trust by imitating His Heart. Through this devotion, we offer acts of love, mercy, prayer, and sacrifice in reparation for sins and for the salvation of all mankind.

Making a formal Act of Consecration is a way to surrender and rededicate ourselves to the Heart of the Divine King, responding fully to the love that fills His Heart.  

It is a way of committing oneself to the Sacred Heart and declaring, “I want to be devoted to you and to live my life as a response to Your love for me.  I want my heart to be filled with the thoughts and feelings of Your heart.  I want our two hearts to beat as one so as I go through my day, I will live in such a way that other hearts will be set on fire with the love of Your Heart in me. In consecration, we are basically saying to Jesus, “You’ve given me everything. You’ve given me your very self. I give myself back to you. - Father James Kubicki, SJ  

The Family Consecration and Home Enthronement movement began on August 24, 1907 by Father Mateo Crawley-Boevey beside the tomb of Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque.  Such consecration was not an entirely new devotion, rather a full flowering of the piety towards the Sacred Heart promoted by Saint Margaret Mary and approved by the Apostolic See.
